"But how does he get the newly released movies? Do you not find it to be a little odd? Nowadays after the theatre run, the movies get directly released on to the OTT within 3 or 4 months, so it is impossible to get a good print on the day when the movie releases. Do you not find this suspicious?" I asked Rohit.
"You do not need to worry about it. If anything happens then it is up to the dude. I believe he is aware of the risks that he is taking. He knows what he is doing and still continuous to do so. Just relax and do not think a lot about it," Rohit reply to me as if this was something to be considered very casual.
"Sorry but I do not find this comfortable. I would rather stay away than getting involved. As for me there will not be any requests. Thank you for a telling me everything transparently," I appreciated Rohit for telling me the truth without holding any information back. I wondered if nobody else found this unethical, because everybody was happy to place their requests to Chirag.
Rohit saw me thinking over it, "you promise me something. You are not going to react over this. Please do not report anything. Chirag has a family to take care of. Think about his family before doing anything", Rohit warned me.
"Of course not. I am not thinking of reporting. I don't even know what is happening. All I said was that I do not see it to be moral and hence I would be out of it, " I assured Rohit that I would not report or submit a complaint against Chirag.
"Also do you know? This is not just limited to us. Our managers also come to Chirag to place their requests. They to take movies from him. They are aware and they do not find it suspicious. So you better take a chill pill buddy," this felt less like passing the information and more like a polite threat. I decided to keep my mouth shut but my eyes and ears open to the surroundings. At that moment I felt like there are many secrets to be uncovered in this office.
Then it was Friday. Chirag entered the office. He was welcomed with a standing ovation. He to accepted it and waved at the crowd as if he was a politician who had just won the biggest election of his life. He walked in as if he was an important person (which he probably was for handling a crucial client). He sat at his desk as if it was his throne. A few minutes later he did the same gesture that he had done the day before. He got up with pride and said, " my beloved colleagues, I have the films that you had requested. Please come to my desk one by one. Please ensure that your phones are adequately charged so that the transfer takes place uninterrupted. Let us collaborate and get entertained".
With that there was another round of applause and standing ovation to Chirag. Everything felt not only suspicious but unusual to happen at a corporate office. I decided to sit this one out and observe. With each passing moment the discomfort was growing.
Thankfully it was the last Friday on which these activities took place. The next week was beholding a surprise which neither Chirag nor my colleagues could take it easily.
When you see something unethical happening at work, do you
Your vote is final.

This is interesting. A small observation can make big difference. I have seen in corporate that many ill behaviors are supported. When the biggies are involved, even if it is incorrect it is still continued. I am eager to know what happened next.
