College life is a beautiful journey filled with knowledge, friendships, and the occasional realisation that you have forgotten the one document standing between you and your academic future.
Today, our college lobby witnessed a scene that deserved its own episode of a comedy series.Picture this: students waiting outside the office, everyone busy with their own problems, fees, paperwork, and exam-related anxiety. Some looked serious enough to be appointed as the next education minister. Others were probably calculating how many marks they could score if
the examiner decided to take a personal day off.And then entered our first-year heroine. She approached someone sitting nearby with the urgency of a person trying to contact NASA
before an asteroid hit Earth.“Excuse me, do you have a phone charger?”Now, requesting a charger is a perfectly normal thing. But in a college during examination season, a dying phone battery is practically a national emergency. Forget your breakfast, forget your sleep, but God forbid your phone dies before you can check whether your hall ticket exists in the digital universe.
Unfortunately, I had no charger to offer. My contribution to society was limited to standing there and witnessing the unfolding drama.Thankfully, the gentleman sitting opposite her came to the rescue with his power bank.
And just like that, an ordinary college lobby transformed into an emergency charging station. But wait. The real plot twist was yet to come.Upon asking what had happened, I discovered that this girl had arrived at college to submit a permission letter and an apology letter because she had forgotten her hall ticket.Read that again. She had remembered to come to college, remembered to submit the necessary letters, and remembered to ask for a charger. The only thing missing from this carefully organised operation was the document she actuallyneeded for the examination.Honestly, that deserves some appreciation. My brain would probably have opened seventeen imaginary tabs, played dramatic background music, and started questioning every life decision since kindergarten.Meanwhile, this girl was anxious but still confident enough to handle the situation.I respect that.
Some people panic when they lose a pen. Some panic when they forget their homework. And some discover that their hall ticket is missing only after reaching the college, as though the universe has personally scheduled a surprise test before the actual test. But here’s what made the situation unexpectedly wholesome.Nobody gave a motivational speech. Nobody delivered a lecture about responsibility. Nobody stood up and announced, “Children, today we shall learn the importance of preparation.”Someone simply offered a power bank.
No dramatic music. No heroic entry. Just a person helping another person with something small. And perhaps that’s the funniest thing about life.
We spend so much time waiting for grand gestures that we sometimes overlook the tiny ones happening right in front of us.Of course, charging a phone won’t magicallyproduce a missing hall ticket. A power bank cannot reverse time, convince management to change its rules, or make your brain remember things you forgot at home.
But it can give you one less thing to worry about while you’re already dealing with everything else. So, today’s lesson is simple: charge your
phone, check your documents before leaving home, and never underestimate the person carrying a power bank. They might just be the unofficial superheroyour college desperately needs. And to every student reading this: may your pens always work, your admit cards always be in your bags, and your phone batteries remain
above 50% during emergencies.Because exams are difficult enough without your electronics joining the opposition.
Until the next chapter, stay prepared, stay kind, and please check your bags before leaving home. 😂

This is so accurate and hilarious, college lobby scenes are truly a comedy show of their own. Everyone with their own tension but still making it memorable. Loved the way you described it!

Yes I know such people exist. I had met a colleague who forgot his laptop home, travelled 2 hours to reach the office without realising that his bag was lighter because there was no laptop. I immediately had a facepalm moment. Your story reminded me of that incident. It made me laugh
