Adulthood: The Subscription Nobody Asked For

Nobody warned us that adulthood would be this expensive. As children, we thought growing up meant freedom, shopping whenever we wanted, eating pizza for dinner and sleeping whenever we liked.
Well, congratulations! We can technically do all of that now. The only problem is that our bank balance, responsibilities and back pain have different opinions.
Childhood dreams were something else. I wanted to become successful, travel the world, buy beautiful clothes and live like the main character in a movie. Nobody told me that the first step towards becoming an independent adult would be learning how to compare vegetable prices.Remember when we thought earning money meant becoming rich? Now, the moment salary arrives, rent, bills, groceries and other
expenses stand in a queue like they’ve been waiting for a celebrity appearance. And don’t even get me started on weekends. As children, weekends meant playing outside, watching cartoons and having fun. As adults, weekends mean washing clothes, cleaning rooms, organising cupboards and recovering from Monday to Friday.Sometimes I wonder whether adulthood is
actually a job with no salary, no holidays and unlimited responsibilities. Then comes the famous question from relatives: “So, what’s your future plan?”My dear relative, I’m currently trying to figure out what to eat for dinner. Please let me complete this mission before asking about my five-year plan. The funniest part is that we spend our childhood wishing to grow up and adulthood
wishing someone would bring back summer vacations. But perhaps growing up isn’t entirely terrible. We get to make our own decisions, discover ourselves, earn our own money and create memories. We just need to accept one thing: nobody really knows what they’re doing. Some people simply have better calendars and more convincing LinkedIn profiles.Until then, let’s keep pretending that everything is under control. After all, adulthood is basically improvisation with monthly expenses!
And perhaps that's the real secret of adulthood: learning to laugh even when life refuses to cooperate. We may not have everything figured out, our bank accounts may disagree with our shopping lists, and our plans may change every other Monday. But we're still learning, growing and finding happiness in unexpected places. Maybe one day we'll look back at these chaotic years and miss them too. Until then, let's take life one bill, one cup of coffee and one unnecessary online purchase at a time. After all, nobody promised adulthood would come with an instruction manual!
Stay wonderfully chaotic!
Adulthood is often a surprise. When faced with unexpected adult responsibilities, you
