Why Does Food Taste Better From Someone Else’s Plate?

Chapter: I Didn’t Want Yours Until You Got it There is something deeply unfair about foodYou can have the exact same thing sitting in front of you, take a bite, and think, “Yeah, it’s good”Then someone next to you orders the same thing Suddenly theirs looks betterSame restaurant Same food Probably the same ingredients But somehow, the moment it becomes someone else’s plate, it becomes more interesting 😭And the funniest part is that you might not even have wanted it before You were perfectly happy with your own foodThen you notice someone eating friesYou look onceThen againAnd suddenly you’re thinking, I should’ve ordered friesYou weren’t thinking about fries five minutes agoNow their fries have become the most important thing in the room Maybe it’s because food always looks better when w…

Things We Somehow Know About Everything Kabhi notice kiya hai raat ko 2 baje hum achanak har cheez mein expert ban jaate hain Din mein jis decision ke liye poora din sochte hain, raat ko uska solution do minute mein mil jaata hai Phir subah uth kar wahi solution dekh ke lagta hai ke yeh idea aaya kahan se tha but 2 a.m. brain has its own logic Suddenly you want to rearrange your room Learn a completely new language Book a trip Start reading again Change your entire routine Open an old cupboard and organise everything And somehow become the most productive person aliveYou watch one random video about making pasta and suddenly you’re convinced you could open a restaurant You see someone painting and think, I should start paintingYou hear one song and decide you need to learn guitarYou watch …

Why Do We Remember Embarrassing Moments Forever?

Have you ever suddenly remembered something embarrassing you did years ago and physically wanted to disappear for a second? 😭 It could be something so small that nobody else probably remembers it anymore. Maybe you said the wrong thing in front of everyone, waved back at someone who wasn't actually waving at you, tripped in public, called a teacher “mom,” or answered a question with complete confidence only to realise you were completely wrong. And somehow, your brain decides that this is the perfect memory to replay at 2 AM. What I find strange is that we remember these tiny embarrassing moments so clearly, while forgetting so many ordinary good moments. I might not remember exactly what I ate three Tuesdays ago. I probably won't remember what I was wearing on a random afternoon last mont…

What if I woke up as the last biscuit in a packet?.

I woke up today as the last biscuit in a packet, and immediately understood that my life was coming to an end. I could hear someone shaking the packet, searching desperately for me. I his behind a broken biscuit like it was a military operation. Eventually, the packet opened, and a hand reached inside . I thought this was it Then they hesitated. Apparently, they were "saving the last one for later". Hours passed , I remained untouched, feeling strangely important. At night, they finally returned, opened. the packet, and ate me with tea. Honestly, I couldn't have asked for a better ending.

What if I woke up as a phone?

I woke upntoday as a phone, which explains why someone immediately grabbed me before brushing their teeth, Apparently, my purpose in life is receiving notifications surviving 3% battery, and being blamed whenever the WI-FI stops working. I spent the morning watching reels, answering messages, and witnessing approximately 47 screenshots that nobody will ever delete. Then came the worst part, being dropped face - down. I survived, thankfully. By evening my owner placed me beside the bed and whispered, 'Justcone last reel." I wanted to scream instead, I displayed 2% battery and hoped she would finally lete sleep.

Art of being a beginner

Whenever we start something , we always look upto people that are already good at what they do. We see their confidence, their skills and the results they have achieved. What we don't see is the struggle, mistakes, and effort it took for them to reach a point where they are now being looked at as an example It is a universal truth that everyone has to start from zero . Everyone has to begin with little to no experience. Which can feel uncomfortable when we are constantly comparing ourselves to people who are already past that stage. We forget that they were once beginners too. We see their progress but rarely think about their starting point . Comparison and fear of not being good enough can slowly take over our willingness to learn. Instead of trying , we start worrying about how we will…

What if I woke up as a google maps pin?.

I woke up today as a Google Maps pin, which sounds harmless untill I realized my entire existence depended on strangers tapping me. One minute I was marking a bakery, the next I was mysteriously placed in the middle of someone's uncle's house. People kept dragging me around, zooming in, zooming out, and asking whether the road actually existed. I wanted to scream, " I don't know! I'm a pin!". By evening, I had been used to find a hospital, a tea shop, and someone's forgotten wedding hall. Honestly, I never knew being useful could be this exhausting. Tomorrow I hope someone finally pins me somewhere peaceful.

What if I woke up as an Alarm clock?

I woke up today as an alarm clock, which immediately felt like a terrible career choice. My entire purpose was to scream at someone every morning and become the most hated object in the room. At 6.30, I did my job faithfully only to receive a violent slap. I tried again at 6.35, hoping persistence would be appreciated. Instead, a pillow came flying across the room. By 7.00, she finally woke up, stared at me angrily, and blamed me for ruining her sleep. The funniest part?. That night, she set me for 6:00 again. Apparently, being hated is still job security.

What if I woke up as a celling fan?.

I woke up today as a celling fan , which was honestly a terrible career choice. My entire existence now depends on one swich. People turn me on when they're sweating, complain when I make noise, and completely ignore me when the weather is pleasant. I spent the morning spinning above a family arguing about the electricity bill. Apparently I was somehow responsible. By afternoon, someone hung wet clothes beneath me, creating the most confusing breeze of my life. Then the power went out.Everyone groaned. I just sat there silently, enjoying the rare opportunity to stop working. Honestly, relatable.

What if I woke up as a dog?

I woke up this morning with four legs a tail, and absolutely no idea why everyone was screaming. Then someone put food in a bowl, and honestly, I decided to accept my new life. No college, No assignments No emails, No deadlines. My biggest responsibility was looking adorable and barking at auspicious delivery people. I spent the afternoon sleeping in the sun and judging everyone from the sofa.Later my human took me for a walk and I discovered that apparently every tree contains extremely important information. By evening I had eaten, slept, explored, and caused minor chaos. Honestly adulthood looks overrated.

What if I couldn't lie?.

If I couldn't lie, my social life would collapse before breakfast. Mom would ask, "How was your day?", and I'd accidentally explain everything. My friend would ask,"So you like my new haircut?" and I would suddenly become unemployed. College would be wore, "Did you complete the assignment?. No "Did you understand the lecture?". Absolutely not. "Why are you late?".; Because I ignored my alarm and watched reels. At first, honesty would feel refreshing. Then people would stop asking me question. I think I would eventually learn the difference between lying and simply knowing when silence is the kinder answer.

When if I could read minds?.

If I could read minds, I think I would regret it within tea minutes. At first, I would test it an friends , secretly listening to what they really thought about me. Then I'd probably hearvthings like, "why is she still talking?. And immediately wise I had remained blissfully ignorant. College would become terrifying Professors might secretly bate our answers, classmates might be pretending to understand, and the person smilling at me might actually be thinking about lunch. The worst part wouldn't be discovering secrets. It would be realizing how rarely people think about me at all. Honestly, silence sounds wounderful now.

"INNER THOUGHTS"

Inner thoughts often surface when we cannot bring ourselves to say aloud what we feel. Why do we stay silent? Is it fear, a lack of courage, or a desire not to hurt others with blunt words? People often assume that speaking openly is the only sign of bravery, but silence can also come from kindness and restraint. Still, not standing up for ourselves in prevent us from getting what we need or want. This behavior may be described as cowardice, innocence, naivete, or simply a desire to remain in everyone's good graces - but such labels often overlook the real reasons behind a person's silence.

Why Does Night Time Feel Different?

Have you ever noticed how the same room can feel completely different at night? Nothing has actually changed. The furniture is still there. Your phone is still in your hand. The same walls, the same bed, the same window. Yet somehow, 2 a.m. mein sab kuch thoda different lagta hai. A thought that seemed completely unimportant during the afternoon suddenly feels worth thinking about. A song you've heard a hundred times suddenly sounds different. You remember a random conversation from three years ago and, for absolutely no reason, start analysing what someone actually meant. Why does that happen? Maybe it's because during the day, there's always something competing for our attention. Messages. Classes. Work. People talking. Notifications. Noise. Even when we're doing nothing, something is us…

what if I woke up as a billionaire?

I woke up today as a billionaire, apparently. My first reaction wasn't buying a Lamborghini. It was checking whether my bank account had accidentally developed a comma problem. It had several. My phone was filled with messages from people I had never met, suddenly interested in my "vision". I ordered breakfast and realized the restaurant probably cost less than my morning coffee budget. By noon, I had already been offered three investments I didn't understand and invited to a yacht party I couldn't pronounce property. Honestly, the strangest part wasn't having money. It was realizing everyone suddenly bad a reason to be nice

What if I woke up as a complete stranger?.

I woke up this morning, looked in the mirror, and immediately particularly panicked. I didn't recognize the person staring back. Different face, different room, different clothes, and apparently a completely different life. My phone has 47 notifications, but none of the names meant anything. I tried calling Mom, then remembered this wasn't my phone. Even worse, I had no idea where the bathroom was. After thirty minutes of detective work, I discovered a wallet, an office ID, and a grocery list containing "milk, eggs, and toothpaste". Honestly, whoever I had become seemed responsible. I wasn't sure whether to panic or admire them.

What if I woke up as my 10 - year - old self?.

I woke up today and immediately knew something was wrong because my feet barely touched the floor. I ran to the mirror and nearly screamed. Somehow, I was ten again. My first thought was school. My second was whether homework still existed. Unfortunately, it did. I spent the morning enjoying cartoons, snacks, and having absolutely no Responsibilities. Then Mom told me to finish my homework before playing Suddenly, childhood felt less magical. Still, I loved how excited I was about everything. A new pencil felt special. Evening cricket felt important. Even a five- rupees chocolate seemed like treasure. Maybe growing up isn't gaining everything Sometimes, it's losing the ability to be impressed by little things.

September

September

September doesn't announce itself with fanfare. It sneaks in through half-open windows, carrying the scent of rain and the promise of cooler nights. The weather can't seem to decide what it wants to be, warm one moment, chilly the next, interrupted by rain that's gentle enough to be called pretty rather than annoying. It's indecisive, like everything else this month seems to be. The trees know better. They've already made their decision. Leaves drift down like they're in no rush to hit the ground, falling in slow motion, painting the world in shades of gold and brown. There's something melancholic about watching trees shed, the season's way of saying goodbye to abundance and settling into bare minimalism. Then come the mid sems. The late-night study sessions that steal your nights and give…

Rain

Rain

Everytime it rains, i am reminded of how much the nature holds power over us. As I see the world pour over us all the emotions I am forced to let go off my emotions in the form of tears too. This is how much power it has, it forces overwhelming when it is overwhelming too. The rain is now so less. This I feel refelcts on how less human emotions are these days. Just like the rain is vanishing, the human emotions are numbing too. The monsoon arrived late this year. But it came. And yesterday the rain pired over so much that the streets are still fresh with the smell of being wet. Just like that, I was reminded that no matter how long it takes, no matter how far off, but you are bound to have your heart filled eventually and then you will need a release. and This release will calm does w…

We Never Knew We Would Miss It

There was a time when school felt like the biggest punishment in the world. We complained about everything. The morning assembly was too long. The uniform was uncomfortable. The teachers gave too much homework. Mondays were horrible. Tests were unfair. The timetable was exhausting. We hated waking up early, hated carrying those heavy bags, hated sitting through lectures when all we wanted was to go home. And somehow, we spent years wishing for the day when we would finally be free.“Bas school khatam ho jaaye.”We said it so casually. We had no idea how much we would miss it once it actually did.I think about those ordinary mornings now. The ones I never appreciated because they were ordinary. Getting ready half-asleep, rushing because I was already late, looking for my socks, fighting with m…

dessert

dessert

There is a reason why we reach for dessert after a difficult day, it's not for hunger, but for solace. Desserts i believe are more than sugar and flour, they're emotional anchors, small rituals that whisper to us that we deserve something gentle, something kind. Think of the last time you had a slice of cake. Was it purely about taste? Or was it wrapped in memory? Maybe it was your grandmother's recipe, and suddenly you weren't just eating , you were time-traveling, held briefly in her arms again through the familiar sweetness. Desserts are time machines. They collapse the distance between who we were and who we are now. I know this because i havr felt it myself. When we're happy, desserts celebrate with us. Birthday cake isn't really about cake; it's about a room full of people saying, "Y…

Being A Mother

Being A Mother

Being a mother is not only to be a mother, it's little more than this. It's about to be first ever teacher for her child. It's about to be closest friend. Being a mother is about to made and care for her child's whole existence. Somewhere I was listening that if a child does good, the credit goest to the father, but if he does bad or mistakes, then credit goes to mother. But, I don't care about societal credit. I feel the most proud if my daughter shares her deepest secrets, her heaviest fears, and her happiest moments with me without a single second thought. When she treats me not just as an authority figure, but as their most trusted confidant and safest space—that is my ultimate victory as a mother.

I am fine !

I am fine !

I am fine........... How easy it is to say ? We often hide too much things inside us but still we say that I am fine so simply but the truth is that we are not , From outside we look sound, we appear well , but the hustle inside us , just we know what we are going through. Sometimes I feel if I could say everything what is hidden inside me , sometimes I really want to be empty from inside, No thoughts, no worries, no dilemmas but the question is whom ? Whom can I say all these things who will fix it and the moment this question comes i just realise that no one , and it keeps the inner fight onwards.

There are things we borrow from people without…

There are things we borrow from people without ever realizing that we are borrowing them.A phrase.A habit.A song.A way of laughing. A particular expression we start using because someone we once knew used it all the time.I noticed this recently when I caught myself saying something my grandmother used to say whenever I was being unnecessarily dramatic. I laughed the moment the words came out of my mouth. She isn’t around to hear me say them anymore. But somehow, a tiny part of her still is.Maybe this is how people remain with us.Not always through photographs or belongings kept carefully inside cupboards, but through the smallest pieces of themselves that accidentally become part of us.My mother has a habit of checking the door twice before going to bed. I used to find it annoying. Now, wit…

Bananas are barriers and strawberries are not?.

I learned today that bananas are technically berries, while strawberries technically aren't Obviously, my brain needed answers. I searched why then somehow ended up reading about botanical definitions, seed structures, tomatoes, watermelons, and the strange ways scientists classify fruits. Thirty minutes later,I was standing at my kitchen and staring at my fruit bowl like it had been lying to me my entire life. Science is amazing when curiosity takes over . One tiny fact can completely destroy your confidence in something you thought you understood.

A random country on Google maps

I opened Google Maps today with absolutely no plan and decided to pick a random country. My finger landed on Mongolia. Within minutes, I was zooming into tiny roads, looking at landscapes, checking strange place names, and wondering what people were doing there at that exact moment. I started with five minutes of curiosity and somehow spent nearly an hour travelling without leaving my chair. There is something strangely satisfying about exploring places you may never visit. Google Maps might actually be the cheapest form of travel.

Every friend group has rules

Every friend group has rules.Nobody writes them down. Nobody officially announces them. Yet somehow, everyone knows them. Rule number one: If one person says, “Guys, I have something to tell you,” everyone stops whatever they are doing. It could be something completely useless, but suddenly the entire group becomes a courtroom.Rule number two: There is always one person who is permanently late. Nobody even gets angry anymore. The meeting time simply gets adjusted according to their arrival time.“Let’s meet at 5.”“What time will she come?” “Probably 5:45.”“Okay, see you at 5:45.”Rule number three: If someone sends “Guys…” followed by nothing else, prepare for chaos. That three-dot message has more power than an emergency siren.Rule number four: Everyone has a designated personality. There i…

The happiness we think everyone else have

There is something strange about the way we look at other people’s lives.Everyone seems unhappy when they talk about themselves. “I’m stressed.”“Nothing is going right.”“I don’t feel fulfilled.”“I wish my life were different.” And yet, when we look at them from the outside, they somehow seem so much happier than us.They have the friends we wish we had. They go out more often. They post pictures from cafés,  trips, birthdays and late-night plans. They seem confident, surrounded, loved and completely comfortable with their lives. Meanwhile, we sit there wondering, “Why does everyone have a better life than me?”The funny part is that someone else might be looking at our life and thinking exactly the same thing. Maybe the person we think is always happy goes home and spends hours overthinking …

The perks of living in someone else’s home

There is a strange kind of freedom in living in someone else’s home.People usually imagine freedom as having your own room, your own kitchen, your own rules, and nobody asking where you are going. But after spending some time living in someone else’s house, I have discovered another definition of freedom: Not being responsible for the electricity bill.It sounds small, but trust me, it is not.I have spent enough time living in someone else’s home to understand that it comes with a very unusual collection of perks. Some are genuinely wonderful, some are hilarious, and some make you question whether you are technically a guest or just a very comfortable unpaid resident. The first and biggest perk is food. When it is your own home, you have to think about groceries. Milk needs to be bought. Ve…
